Your Tasks

Your responsibility will cover all CropEnergies and BENEO sites and businesses.

  1. Develop a long-term Asset Lifecycle Strategy and replacement roadmap in order to ensure the technical integrity and future reliability of the group’s high-value production assets while optimizing total cost of ownership.
  2. Steer the operations and technical aspects of product portfolio extensions for both food ingredients and bio-based chemicals in order to provide clear guidance and accurate cost estimations for future growth projects.
  3. Implement the Südzucker Group Operational Excellence Program (OPTIMUM), tailored to the specific needs of each CE and BENEO production site where required. Priorities shall be identified through the systematic application of loss tree analysis and cost deployment methodologies, with a focus on increasing plant availability (OEE), reducing manufacturing costs, and continuously expanding production capacity. This will strengthen business performance while ensuring the long-term competitiveness and sustainability of the organization.
  4. Report on qualitative and quantitative technical parameters (CAPEX, KPIs, and approval status) in order to provide the Executive Boards with timely data and strategic insights for decision-making.
    Ensure close collaboration and exchange with Südzucker Group Team for Investment and Technical Excellence in COT.
  5. Drive sustainability management initiatives with a specific focus on engineering feasibility (e.g., heat recovery and carbon reduction) in order to guide the BENEO and CropEnergies Boards in maximally reducing their combined ecological footprint.
  6. Lead the joined Maintenance Management community regarding budgets, criticality rankings, and systems (e.g., SAP-EAM) in order to develop group-wide best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  7. Deploy the Südzucker Group digital and automation strategy for Beneo and CropEnergies. Identify further opportunities for digital transformation in order to enhance operational efficiency and drive innovation across all production sites in close collaboration with the respective teams in CDS, CDI and Paioneer
  8. Coach project execution resources and engineering teams across the organization in order to ensure an adequate level of expertise, high performance, and alignment with corporate values. In particular, ensure all investment projects are delivered on time, in full and in budget.
  9. Standardize technical investment and optimization processes across BENEO and CropEnergies in order to leverage synergies and harmonize engineering standards between the different business units.

Your Profile

Thinking Level and/or Experience required for the role:

  • Master’s degree in process engineering, food technology or Chemical Engineering.
  • 10-15 years of professional experience in the food, process and (bio)-chemical industry.
